Action Physiotherapy first opened in 1993 in the Fort Garry area. We have since grown into two locations and are now proud to serve the River Heights community. Under one roof, you will find physiotherapy, massage therapy, counselling and dietary consultation professionals dedicated to helping you feel your best.
We provide additional services such as acupuncture, dry needling, custom orthotics, vestibular rehabilitation, craniosacral, hot stone and aromatherapy massage.

Resa Wan | Physiotherapist

Resa graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba. She has also completed her acupuncture and dry needling certification and is the proud owner of Action Physiotherapy.
She has a passion for health promotion, physical activity and helping others feel their best. She is a mom of two little girls and loves spending time with her family, hiking, camping, or being outdoors.

Kristy Chuckree | Physiotherapist
Academy
Kristy has over 15 years experience as an orthopedic physiotherapist. She graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2008 with a Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy. Since then, she has been certified in acupuncture, and has taken a variety of post-graduate courses including vestibular rehabilitation and myofascial release. Throughout her career she has worked in hospital and private clinic settings.

Kristy enjoys getting to know her clients and treating a wide variety of orthopedic injuries. She takes a client centered approach to help her patients achieve their individual goals and believes in keeping active during recovery. In her free time Kristy enjoys keeping active, gardening, and crafting. Ask her about her dogs!

Caitlin Chan | Physiotherapist
Pembina
Caitlin holds a Master of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Manitoba. With experience in both private practice and hospital settings, she is passionate about treating orthopedic conditions using a personalized approach that blends manual therapy, exercise, and education.

Outside the clinic, Caitlin enjoys reading, working out, and going on adventures with her dog Nala.

Fung Cheung | Physiotherapist
Pembina

Fung graduated from University of Manitoba with a Masters of Physiotherapy.
He is always excited to continue his learning and hopes to concentrate on temporomandibular joint disorders and vestibular physiotherapy in the future. With a focus on evidence-based practice, he takes a hands-on approach together with exercise to help his patients.
He enjoys spending time rock climbing, doing taekwondo, and the occasional run.

Avril Hatherell | Physiotherapist

Avril earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta in 2018, following a Bachelor of Science in Genetics from the University of Manitoba. She treats a wide range of conditions, from sports and workplace injuries to orthopedic concerns, with a special interest in hands. Avril is certified in acupuncture and dry needling and has completed Level 2 of the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program.
With over 26 years of experience as both an athlete and coach in archery, Avril is interested in injury prevention and rehabilitation, particularly in sports-related conditions. She’s passionate about working with her patients to set personalized goals and support them on their recovery journey.
Outside the clinic, Avril enjoys baking, traveling, exploring local walking trails, and tending to her garden.

Sharon Dyck | Massage Therapist

Sharon graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the University of Manitoba and received RMT training at the Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy in 2014.
She has post-graduate training in Swedish massage, hot stone, aromatherapy, myofascial release, reflexology, as well as cranio-sacral therapy. She recently obtained her Reiki level 1.
When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Sharon enjoying golf, swimming, and yoga or volunteering at the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Natalia Kurlowicz | Massage Therapist

Nat graduated from a 2200 hour Massage Therapy program at Wellington College in Winnipeg, MB. Since 2019, I have had the opportunity to work in a sport focused and physiotherapy clinic alongside other practitioners. Working in these environments, I was challenged to provide care for athletes, individuals recovering from multiple surgeries and a variety of pathological conditions.

I am the Registered Massage Therapist and owner of Kaluluwa Massage Therapy. I graduated from Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies in 2020.​ A treatment by me isn't like any other massage; it is a chance to become more educated, mindful and to learn more about what is happening in your body. I like to help you understand why you may be experiencing aches, pains, stiffness and restrictions to your movements. Rest assured, you are in good hands (pun intended).

Dale Kornelson | Dietitian

Dale has been a Registered Dietitian (RD) for over 24 years. Dale started his career at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. Since then, Dale has worked in personal care homes, public health, diabetes education and chronic disease. He has also worked in private practice in order to help people achieve maximum wellness through better nutrition. Dale provides individual nutrition counselling for a number of different issues including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, celiac disease, and weight management.

Gloria Burgess Springer | Canadian Certified Counsellor

Gloria has a masters degree in Counselling and is a Professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and is a Canadian Certified Counsellor.
